Common Questions
about Hypnosis and Life Coaching
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis uses a collection of methods to calm the conscious mind in order to access the subconscious, allowing it to guide the client. Hypnosis accesses the natural state between wakefulness and sleep that we experience daily. In hypnotherapy the client's subconscious, not the therapist, guides and directs the method of inner healing.
What hypnosis is not:
Hypnosis is not "going under" or "losing control." All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The client remains conscious, but relaxed during the hypnotherapy session. If a client chooses to not experience a relaxed state of consciousness, it will not happen. Hypnotherapy is not a stage show in which participants agree to perform stunts for the audience's entertainment.
Who can be hypnotized?
Anyone can be hypnotized; it is a choice. Some clients experience the trance state with more ease than others, but this difference disappears with time and experience.
Why do clients use a hypnotherapist?
Hypnotherapy is a complementary healing modality. When used in cooperation with a physical, psychological, or medical program, hypnosis can speed the recovery, change or healing.
How does the medical profession use hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy has been recognized by the American Medical Association since 1958. As scientifically documented, hypnotherapy is valued in the treatment of pain management, stress management, irritable bowel syndrome, alleviation of autoimmune diseases, and preparing for surgery.
What is Life Coaching?
Life Coaching opens possibilities and life solutions that may lie dormant, deep within your heart and mind. As your coach, I honor your path, your possibilities and your power. Life Coaching is a personal investment in yourself and your future. Step by step, you create the life you desire. As your coach, I hold you accountable for each step toward the vision of the future you want to create.
What is the Life Coaching process?
Life Coaching sessions are a combination of phone and email. Office sessions are optional. In the first stages of the process, the client determines his or her goals, values and vision of the future. To insure that solid change occurs, a successful Life Coaching relationship usually lasts a minimum of three months.
